Change Management Foundation and Practitioner

Dealing with change and, more importantly, the impact of change is a high priority for all organisations. The ability to lead people, teams and organisations through change is increasingly key to overall success.  If you are responsible for or involved in implementing change in your organisation, then this course, which is accredited by APMG-International, is for you.

What you will learn:

This course is focused on helping people understand change management, the impact it has within their organisation and their role in the successful implementation of organisational change. It will help you gain a better understanding of different frameworks and ways of approaching and leading change. Four main themes are covered:

  • Individual change
Whatever the level, or degree of organisational change, the people on the receiving end are the ones who will ultimately cause the change to be a success or a failure. The issues people face when dealing with change and approaches for dealing with resistance are covered.

  • Team change
This module focuses on the challenges faced by teams when they are formed and transitioning through change initiatives and approaches for how to manage them.

  • Organisational change
This module focuses on different types of organisations and the selection of differing approaches and frameworks, for the successful delivery of organisational change within varying cultures.
  • Leading change
A thread running throughout the course is the crucial role of leadership. Different styles of leadership and their suitability to different types of complex scenarios and organisations are explored.

Duration and format of the course:

    Duration: 5 days
The first 3 days cover the main syllabus and exam for the Foundation level. The 4th day is focused on achieving a deeper understanding of how to implement and manage change and preparing for the Practitioner exam. The Practitioner exam is taken on the 5th day.

    Course benefits:
    • For individuals – individuals taking the course will be able to develop their understanding of the subject, identify the negative impacts that change initiatives can have and learn how to address these in order to achieve the full benefits of change. In the current working environment all individuals see their organisation going through increasingly frequent change, and being able to deal with this will often contribute to an individual’s personal success within an organisation.
    • For organisations – the successful completion of the course will demonstrate that an individual has a good understanding of change, its benefits and its impact on various groups within the organisation. Organisations with individuals who are trained in change management will be able to react more effectively not just to local competitive pressures but also to global competition and wider political and environmental issues.
