From Alexa to Tesla, it is very evident that emerging technologies are capable of changing the status quo. Technology stands still for no one. The sparks of innovation continue to fly each day with emerging and disruptive technologies. This was the main message of our Conference "Emerging and Disruptive Technologies- At work and home" which took place in London on 5 December. One of the key takeaway from all the speakers was to accept and embrace the advancements of such technologies and promptly implement them to the enterprise and the home. Star speakers included Alan Brown, University of Exeter; Peter Waggett, IBM UK; Marian Nicholson, Fujitsu; Mike Brown, ISARA Corp; Humayun Sheikh, Fetch.ai; Enza Messina, University of Milano-Bicocca; Steve Wells, Fast Future Publishing Limited; Dan Hooper, Piccadilly; Mark Grundland, Functional Elegance - to name but a few. They were all knowledgeable and expert communicators, and the audience showed their appreciation by joining enthusiastically in the Q & A and panel sessions.

AI and Machine Learning are currently major drivers bringing new solutions to challenges in the Financial Industry. The new technologies offer automated solutions to problems in every aspect of Finance, from trading to risk management throughout all markets. Sentiment Analysis is based on Machine Learning techniques and enables news sentiment signals to be included in decision making processes.
Our conference in Zurich covered newest developments within these topics. Very interesting talks from speakers from academia and industry showed latest AI and Machine Learning solutions to issues in the Finance industry. Topics ranged from "Applying Quantum Computing to the Finance Industry" by Stefan Woerner to "Extracting tradable signals from traditional & alternative data using Machine learning" by Arun Verma and featured panel discussions on "Macro News Analysis brings new perspectives on Bond Portfolios" as well as "AI, Alternative Data and Equity Trading".
The delegates enjoyed the presentation and fruitful discussion and panel sessions were highly interactive, Current plans are to repeat this event in 2019 in Mumbai, Hong Kong, Malta, London and in Zurich.
